The Other Hero

Even after all this time, I still seem to have a liking for Kingdom Hearts. Yea, that's right, the Disney/Square Enix franchise. Laugh it up. It was one of the most interesting and strangely fun game series I had ever played. Mind you, the first time I heard of it, back in primary school, IIRC, I wasn't interested in it. Much like how my brother got me to be a Halo fan, one day, he bought a copy of Kingdom Hearts and since he didn't have the time to play it, asked me to try it out to see if it worked.

And here I am now, a 17 year old who still likes a game that has Disney characters and worlds in it. Although my brother didn't even play it. In fact, for Halo and Kingdom Hearts, he introduced me to them, but he ended up never playing them again. Yeah... Funny how that works.

Anyway, the Japanese version of Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days (Pronounced Kingdom Hearts Three Five Eight Days Over Two) was released pretty recently, and rather surprising to the Americans, the localisation process was shortened and the English version is to be released this year.

Until then, fans have this English E3 2009 trailer to satisfy their fanboy/fangirl-ism.

Awesome. Although I have to say I cringed a little when Xion (Pronounced as Shion) and Axel (that red hair dude) spoke. I dunno. Axel sounds a bit weird in this trailer. Quinton Flynn did a fine job in Kingdom Hearts 2, so I'm sure he'll do another fine job in this game as well.

Also, it seems like Jesse McCartney is reprising his role as the hero of this story, Roxas. Personally, I thought he did a pretty good job as Roxas in Kingdom Hearts 2. Even if Roxas was only playable for a few hours in Kingdom Hearts 2, he became a pretty popular character.

Here's to hoping that Jesse McCartney will play Ven in Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep. Although I have to wonder, now that Wayne Allwine has unfortunately passed away, who will voice King Mickey in Birth by Sleep and the other Kingdom Hearts games? D:

I have a pretty good feeling Alex will be the next voice of Mickey Mouse. Once they hear him use Mickey's signature "Oh boy!" line, I'm sure Disney will hire him!

Aside from the inside joke between the guys in Jayadiri, I really wonder who'll take the mantle now? I apologize if that inside joke offended anyone somehow.
